Intentional Small-Space Interior Design for Emotional Wellness & Nervous System Support

You deserve a space that feels like peace. A space designed to ground your nervous system, calm your mind, support your emotional well-being, and help you reconnect with yourself in the middle of a busy, overstimulated world.

At Grounded Spaces Design by Lola, we co-create intentional wellness spaces that help you restore, recharge, and feel emotionally supported inside your home or office. Small space transformation is our speciality.

About Grounded Spaces Design by Lola

After personally remodeling seven older homes and redesigning a 2,400-square-foot yoga studio known for its calming energy, I began to appreciate how deeply our environments affect the way we feel. People consistently told me there was “something different” about the spaces I created — peaceful, grounding, restorative, and emotionally supportive. Anyone that has had the pleasure of coming into one of the spaces that I’ve created all say the same thing. “The energy in this place is awesome. Wow!” I have had this gift since I was a child. Over the years, I’ve shared this blessing with friends and family, and now, I’ll share it with you. And so, Grounded Spaces Design was born.

Part of my work as a coach is to help others transform small spaces into intentional environments that support emotional wellness, creativity, rest, and peace. My approach blends practical design experience with intuitive environmental awareness to create healing spaces that feel aligned, calming, and uniquely personal.

Small Space, Big Impact: Intentional Design for 150–600 Square Feet

People often think transformation requires a massive renovation or luxury interior makeover.

It doesn’t. Some of the most powerful shifts happen inside one intentionally designed space. The design to the right features a calming, grounding, and meditative space where a hard-hitting executive can release the stress of their day.

Through years of remodeling older homes and redesigning healing-centered environments, I witnessed firsthand how deeply a thoughtfully designed room can impact emotional energy, nervous system regulation, focus, creativity, and overall well-being. The truth is, your environment affects your energy.

When a room either overwhelms or under-stimulates your senses, your body responds to the imbalance within the space. This is why intentional interior design and environmental wellness matter.

Using calming aesthetics, supportive layouts, intentional flow, color psychology, and intuitive environmental awareness, I help create spaces that feel grounding, restorative, peaceful, and aligned with the life you want to create.

Specializing in Intentional Small-Space Transformation

I specialize in small-space transformation, designing personalized refuge areas for 150–600 square feet spaces that promote grounding, emotional wellness, relaxation, creativity, and peace. Your space is personalized to you, and we can include novel design approaches, such as:

  • Astrology-inspired design
  • Human Design principles
  • Enneagram influences
  • Intentional color palettes
  • Candles and ambient lighting
  • Crystals and meaningful décor
  • Artwork and altar spaces
  • Supportive furniture layouts
  • Personalized wellness elements

And yes, you guessed it! I happen to be Sagittarius Sun. What a perfect room for a Saggie!

Co-Creating a Grounding and Peaceful Space

Every space is customized to reflect your emotional needs, aesthetic vision, and personal energy. Because your space should feel as unique as you are.

The picture here shows a calming wellness room for a person who identifies as an Enneagram 8 (that’s me!). The colors and layout reflect the strengths of the 8-type but mellows out the tendency to overpower and helps calm someone who tends to be over-energized.

This is but one of the many ways we can co-create a room to reflect your strengths and balance out your challenges.

Healing Spaces Don’t Require a Luxury Budget

Creating a calming, intentional healing space does not require a luxury renovation budget. One of the biggest misconceptions about intentional interior design is that meaningful transformation only happens through expensive remodels.

Small intentional shifts can completely transform the emotional energy of a room. After redesigning multiple homes and wellness-centered spaces, I learned something important:

It’s not the size, luxury, or expense of a room that creates peace. It’s the energy the space carries.

A thoughtfully designed environment can positively impact your nervous system, emotional state, creativity, focus, rest, and overall sense of well-being. Even small changes in layout, lighting, texture, color, and flow can create a powerful emotional shift.

After reviewing and approving the proposal, a 50% deposit is required to begin the design process.

Create Design Template — Bringing Your Vision to Life

Custom Intentional Design Template & Space Planning

Synthesizing everything we’ve discussed, I create your personalized design template — pulling together the layout, flow, aesthetic, energy, and intentional details that align with your space and your goals. I’ll notify you when your initial design template is complete. Upon payment of the 50% balance, your template will be delivered for your review and approval. And don’t worry — our work together doesn’t end there. Your experience includes one additional round of minor refinements to the original template, allowing us to make any small adjustments needed to ensure your space feels fully aligned, supportive, and uniquely yours.
