What Awakening Actually Does for You
“To awaken is not to reject the dream. It is to become lucid within it, and know that we are not the story but the storyteller.” โ Unknown
One of the biggest challenges I faced during my journey was the depth of my grief. The pain buried in my body and soul felt overwhelming. I remember one moment clearlyโI walked into my house and began screaming. I screamed for hours, until I physically couldnโt anymore.
Afterwards, my throat was sore for a week, and I had even bitten through both sides of my tongue. But when that moment passedโwhen that phase of the dark night of the soul endedโI felt lighter. I had finally uncovered where the shame, pain, and sadness were hiding. And I released it.
That experience taught me something powerful: I didnโt have to suppress my emotions. I could move through themโand come out stronger on the other side.
Awakening Is Reconstruction
Awakening isnโt just about realizationโitโs about reconstruction.
It disrupts what once felt stable, challenges how youโve been living, and strips away versions of yourself built on survival, conditioning, and external validation.
In that process, it can feel like youโre losing your footing. But whatโs really happening is this:
You are rebuilding your foundationโthis time based on truth instead of illusion.
The Shift from External to Internal Stability
Before awakening, stability often comes from external factorsโroutine, relationships, and predictability.
Everything feels manageable as long as those things stay intact. But deep down, thereโs often a quiet sense that something is missing.
Then something shifts. The old ways stop working. You begin to question everything:
โข What is true for me?
โข What do I need to release?
โข Who am I without the old version of myself?
As those external anchors fall away, life may feel uncertainโbut youโre being guided toward something deeper:
Internal stability.
Emotional Regulation Happens Naturally
One unexpected result of awakening is increased emotional awareness.
At first, emotions may feel strongerโbecause youโre no longer avoiding them. Youโre actually experiencing them.
Over time, you begin to notice:
โข You donโt react as quickly
โข You understand emotions instead of being controlled by them
โข You can sit with discomfort without escaping it
This isnโt forcedโit develops naturally as awareness expands.
Mental Clarity Comes from Seeing Clearly
Awakening doesnโt just shift emotionsโit transforms perception.
You begin to see clearly:
โข Where you acted from fear
โข Where patterns were unconscious
โข Where you were out of alignment
With that awareness comes clarityโnot because life becomes simple, but because you stop confusing yourself.
You are no longer:
โข Over-identifying with thoughts
โข Getting trapped in mental loops
โข Seeking constant validation
You begin to trust your inner guidanceโand that becomes your foundation.
Stability Feels Different Now
After awakening, stability doesnโt mean everything is perfect.
It means you remain steady even when things are changing.
You stay connected to yourselfโeven in uncertainty.
Your internal state becomes quieter, calmer, and less dependent on the outside world.
Youโve found your centerโeven in the middle of chaos.
Youโve Got This
Over time, you develop a deep confidence in your ability to navigate life.
This confidence comes from experienceโfrom moving through pain, growth, and transformation.
You learn that you can handle both internal and external storms.
As Ram Dass said:
“Awakening is not changing who you are, but discarding who you are not.”
It doesnโt mean it wonโt hurtโbut it means you now have the strength to move through it and grow.
